Itinerary Highlights:
Day 1: Arrival in Asmara
Arrive in Asmara, settle into your hotel, and enjoy a free evening. Our team will recommend great local spots for dinner.
Day 2: Asmara City Tour
Join a guided tour of Asmara’s UNESCO-listed Italian and modernist architecture. Highlights include stops for the city’s famous macchiato, gelato, and pizza, a visit to the National Museum, and a unique Eritrean-style bowling experience.
Day 3: Ghindae, Massawa & Green Island
On the way to Massawa, we will first visit Ghindae, then make our way to Massawa where you will explore the historic port city of Massawa on the Red Sea, known for its Portuguese, Ottoman, and Italian influences. Stroll through its old town, where you’ll find impressive architectural remnants and learn about its storied past as a cultural and commercial hub. This will also include beach time for relaxation and take in the serene surroundings of the Red Sea.
Day 4: Keren and Halibmentel
Travel to Keren, Eritrea’s second-largest city, surrounded by scenic mountains. Visit the Tigu Fort, St. Maryam chapel (set within a baobab tree), and enjoy the lively local markets, including the Monday livestock market.
Day 5: Return to Asmara
Enjoy breakfast, then return to Asmara, where the tour concludes.

Our price is calculated per person or per two people for each tour package we have available. The prices may vary based on the tour selected, as we offer the flexibility to customise your itinerary. To confirm your trip, please complete the contact form on our website. Once we receive your request and verify availability for your chosen dates, we will send you an email with a confirmation of the dates and a link to pay a 10% deposit of the tour fee.
After the deposit is received, we will email you a final confirmation of your tour along with details on the next steps.

We warmly welcome both solo travellers and groups. Our tours require a minimum of 1 guest and can accommodate groups of up to 30 people.

To confirm your tour, a 10% deposit of the tour fee is required. Once your dates and availability are confirmed, we will send you an email with a link to our Stripe account for secure payment. After the payment is processed, you will receive an invoice or receipt for your records.
The remaining balance can be paid in cash upon arrival in Eritrea or settled in full before the start of your tour.

We can assist you to acquire a visa prior to your visit or ready to be collected on arrival. Please complete our contact us form and we’ll help you secure your visa in time for your Eritrea trip.

In the unlikely event that Barentu Travel & Tours cannot deliver a service listed in your tour program, we will issue a refund for the value of the service not provided.
Cancellation and Refund Policy Summary:
• All cancellations must be made in writing via email.
Refunds are based on the following schedule:
30+ days before departure: Full refund minus the deposit.
15–29 days before departure: 50% of the tour cost refunded.
8–14 days before departure: 20% of the tour cost refunded.
0–7 days before departure: No refund.
No refunds will be provided for unused portions of the tour once it has commenced.
